Campaign Story

The most painful loneliness is not being alone. It is being abandoned by your own family.

There are elderly parents who spent their entire lives raising their children, only to be beaten, neglected or thrown out of their homes when they grew old.

Some are found at railway stations, temples and on the streets. Some are bedridden. Some are physically disabled. Some are battling illnesses. And many have absolutely no one left to care for them.

Swarg Vridh Aashram, Nangloi, Delhi has been giving such elderly parents a home, food, medical care and dignity for the last 26 years under the guidance of founder Tarkeshwar Singh

Today, more than 80 elderly mothers and fathers are being cared for here.

For many of them, this is their last home.They receive daily meals, medicines, medical care, clothing, a safe place to stay and, most importantly, love and respect.

The Aashram has also supported the final rites of more than 300 elderly people who had nobody to stand beside them at the end of their lives. In addition, more than 25 residents have contributed through organ donation, giving others the gift of life even after their own journey ended.

Why We Need Your Help

Caring for elderly people—especially those who are bedridden, disabled or seriously ill—is a responsibility that cannot stop for even a single day.

Every day, the Aashram needs funds for:

At present, the Aashram is facing a serious shortage of funds. An ambulance is urgently required, while regular expenses for food, medicines, staff and essential services are becoming increasingly difficult to manage.

There are days when the question is not about doing more—it is about how tomorrow’s food, medicines and essential care will be arranged.

But these elderly parents cannot simply be left behind.
