Every rainfall brings new suffering for hundreds of abandoned cows.

The cow we lovingly call “Gau Mata” often spends her days standing in mud under the open sky, with no shelter from heavy rain or scorching heat. Many are abandoned on the streets, forced to search for food in garbage dumps. Some are injured in road accidents, while others suffer from illness, old age or severe neglect.

When no one comes forward to help them, Shyam Ji Gau Seva Samiti becomes their only hope. Located in Nuna Majra Village, Bahadurgarh, Haryana, this gaushala provides a safe home to more than 400 rescued and abandoned cows. Every cow here has a painful story—some were rescued after accidents, some are battling serious illnesses, and many were abandoned simply because they grew old or stopped giving milk.

At the gaushala, every Gau Mata receives nutritious fodder, clean drinking water, timely medical treatment and loving care. Here, no cow is treated as a burden—they are cared for like family.

Why We Need Your Help

Looking after 400 cows every day is a huge responsibility. The cost of green fodder, dry fodder, medicines, veterinary treatment, rescue operations and daily care continues to rise.

The biggest challenge today is shelter.

During the rainy season, many cows are forced to stand in water and mud because there are not enough covered sheds. The construction of new shelters has stopped due to lack of funds, leaving hundreds of cows exposed to harsh weather. To complete the shelter construction and continue caring for these rescued cows, we urgently need your support.

• Flooring and drainage
• Green and dry fodder
